I laid in the bed and teared while thinking of the goodness of God. The words are just that powerful. I've listened to many youtube versions and they were all spiritually moving. I think on the scripture, "in everything give thanks..." and sometimes I can honestly wonder how can you give thanks at ALL TIMES for all reasons. There are so many unfortunate times that arise and mean us harm. Different things occur to discourage us and bring us down. So, how can I be thankful for a hard time? I really had to take a lesson from the above text.

So many things can arise against you. You can be cursed with a curse and plagued with bad luck and just can't grab a break. Things happen one after the other. Even the most righteous aren't exempt from trials. things will happen. That has been proven to be a trial and error based fact! The lesson is despite how much you go through, for however long you're going through it, you were not consumed. You're still here. Since you're still here, I believe Donnie McClurkin said it the best, you can get back up again!

You can be in the fight, and even lose. but as long as you aren't dead, round 2 is coming. Your enemy(s) has it out for you. The devil is gonna come at you with everything he's got. God holds life in his hands. Until god calls you home, you always have another chance to get up after you been hit and catch the devil wit a two-piece counter. Strike back at your enemies wit a Jesus hook. You have a fighting chance, because God didn't allow you to be consumed. It may seem bad. You may be down. As you're reading this post right now, I know you're not out for the count! Keep moving! Keep fighting! Keep your faith!

Believe Establish and Prosper!

It's been said that all things are possible to them that believe (Mark 9:23). It's also been said that all you need is the faith of a mustard seed and you can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). Every thing seems to be revolving around you believing and having faith! This leads me to believe that if you don't have faith you can accomplish little or next to nothing, as compared to what you could be accomplishing! This is going to be one of those "go get your blessing" types of posts! I can feel it!

One thing you must do to attain the things you desire is ask for it (Matthew 21:22). There are a couple of catches to the thing. You have to must know what you are asking God for. You can't expect God to grant you something you don't need; something that will cause you to go against the will of God. You can't seriously expect God to grant you that desire. You must have wisdom in your request! That's like giving a child a gun because he asked for it. Not such a smart move! After using wisdom in your request, you must believe that God has sent it in the mail already. You gotta believe that it's already done. The receiving is in YOUR BELIEVING! You don't believe, your chance of receiving is very minimal.

2 Chronicles 20:20 says, "And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper." You want that new house? That new car? Believe in the Lord your God! You want that new job? That promotion you've been waiting for? Believe in the Lord your God! You want that husband or wife you've been waiting for? Believe in the Lord your God! Does that spiritual break through that seems to be taking its time? Believe in the Lord your God! Prosperity is there for the taking! Your foundation is ready for you to establish yourself! ALL YOU'VE GOT TO DO IS BELIEVE IN THE LORD YOUR GOD!

And That's The Reason

People often wonder why we go to church. They even go so far as to ask why we even bother to give praise and worship to God. It's been stated that God doesn't need our praise or our worship because he's God! When I heard this I was immediately stopped in my tracks and I had no choice but to think this over. I was shocked that I couldn't come up with an immediate reason and was even considering saying that person had a point. I took a lil longer and it smacked me in the face harder than a hood momma who's son just back talked to her, lol!

Why do we praise? Why do we worship? Think of, hmmmm, the BIG things. Let's try being alive first. That's always a biggie! Then we can go into some of the not so big things like being able to have use of most if not all of our body parts, limbs and organs. Then, our mind is hopefully in correct running order! The big things that happen the most often that we take for granted. The little things... think on the little things! How many times have you drove somewhere and arrived at your destination? You have been protected and delivered from every possible accident you could have been involved in. Some of us have been healed from various diseases that were said to be incurable. Some of us have sicknesses that could be far worse than it could be, but have shocked and appalled the doctors time and time again. There are endless possibilities of things that could or could not have come our way to cause us hurt harm and mishap. I lift my hands and say "but God..."

Why do we praise? Why do we worship? It is because of GRATITUDE! When someone does something for you, it's all too familiar to say thank you. When we praise and worship God we are showing gratitude for all he has done, is doing and will do for us. We can't physically give God anything. We can sacrifice in God's name but we can never physically give god anything. The fruit of your lip is the best thing you can offer God. The way you live, respectfully, humbly, meekly, and honest, is how you show God you're grateful.

There are so many Gospel artists that have written songs about having a reason. It all comes back to gratitude. Think on all the favor and blessings God has granted to you and then, grab an attitude of gratitude.

Yea, I have been so lax with posting on Mornin Manna. I send you my deepest apologies. While I have been keeping the beat for sending out the text messages, I've even become lax in that. Distractions, along with routine, make things become ordinary and we lose enthusiasm in performance. I've acknowledged the fault. Now, my next step would be to fix the fault.

I do want to thank a recipient, he knows who he is, for emailing me a list of numbers for me to add to the Mornin Manna text message list. The list is ever growing and I have to give thanks to you for passing along the word. Now, If i can manage to send it more in the morning as opposed to the afternoon, lol!

Going with the title of the post, "Slacker", we must take advantage of our time and use it wisely and most efficiently. Someone once told me time is the most precious thing in this world. It can't be stretched. Once wasted it can't be regained.

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." James 4:14

Vices

Vices are things that keep us from reaching our full potential. It's defined as a fault, defect, or shortcoming. Scripture tells us that we all fall short. For those of you who think you don't have a vice and you're just the perfect man or the perfect woman, that's your vice right there! Pride, in the wrong doses and applied incorrectly is a terrible thing. If you really think that you have no vices, that means you are faultless. The only person faultless was God! I mean I doubt you're calling yourself God. Then again, I gotta watch who I say that to... they just might!

I'm not going to go through all of my vices on here. Not because the list may or may not be too lengthy, or because I'm embarrassed of my vices, but because I dealing with God on my vices. I got bunches wrong wit me, and some of which only God can deliver me from. Here's what I did. I made a list of things that I wanted to work on. I thought on areas where I was very rough around the edges. I had to be honest and confess myself to myself. I had to confront me and tell me that I wasn't correct and that I had the potential to do better. Once I completed the list, I saw which things I had to do myself. Then, I identified the things that I would need help accomplishing. These things will either need some one's assistance or a divine intervention.

Another definition for vice would be a clamp to hold something down or to grip something. The vices that we have can literally take control of you and hold you down. You could quite possible say that vices are strongholds even. They are things that can weigh you down and afflict you if you let them. They keep you from going where you need to go and prevent you from being all you can be. They hinder you from performing at your highest potential. You gotta break those strongholds and come out of those vices. Galations 5:1 tells you to stand in the freedom he has given us. Freedom from those things that seem high and heavy. Freedom from those things that are stacked against us. Stand in Jesus and in that freedom and you will notice how free you can be.

This is a public service announcement. "Consider your ways." Find out what your weak areas are and buff out those wrinkles. We are always to be bettering ourselves, right? So, lets do just that and put some kind of plan into motion. Remember, you don't have to let anyone know about what you're working on. It's between you and the Good Lawd! Be mindful. Everyone doesn't need to know your business! "Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways." Keep on working on God's temple, which is you! Remember you CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens you to do so.

Loosen Your Grip

Set the story:

Linda had been praying for a financial break through. She was working this job making enough money to cover her expenses and to make her ends meet. She was wanting a raise and felt she deserved a raise that would pick her up from financial poverty. Time after time she was denied for this raise and she was growing impatient with God. She was becoming weary and doubtful.

Her friend came along in one of her down moments and she broke down in his arms. Bearing all her burdons on him, he attempted to offer consolation. He said all will be okay and just hold on just a little while longer. These words had no effect. He then said maybe its time that you begin to let this job go and trust God. This job is not benefitting you any longer and maybe its time that you loosen your grip on it. You've been praying for years and no change. You've been focused on this one job. You've let it blind you to all the blessings that God could of given to you but you settled for below what you were worth.

And the Message:

Sometimes we tend to hold on to things for so long that it seems like it's our only option. We blind ourselves to the blessings that God could be giving to us. Think on this. If you can put down one burdon, that frees your hands to pick up your deliverance. It frees your hand to pick up your next blessing. We tend to hold on to too much and we should put some things down to pick up what God has in store for us.

Soul'd Out Because Of My Might

God has been so great. He's been so wonderful to us. He's done so much for us. God has not only kept us, but gave us His grace and mercy. He keeps on blessing us. Why can't we render him a praise? Why can't we shout with a voice of Triumph? He already said we would triumph so why can't we walk in the promise? Why can't we get happy for everything that He's doing. Not just an ordinary get happy, an extra ordinary get happy! We gotta do more for God.

Think on this for a quick sec. If we praised God with everything we had, how much room would we have for the enemy to move in and take the upper hand? With all our might, we should be freely giving God what is due. If not because of what he's done, because he is God and our all is what he expects and what is required.

When you've given your all to God, you are sold out only to God. God has you. He's got ya back. He's ya protector, comforter, provider, and everything else you can think of. Let the enemy try to come against you. I dare him to try you when God has your back. Its a losing battle every time. The devil can't win. The devil wont win. But have you sold yourself out to God? That's what it will take to gain that status!

I don't know about you but I will give a praise, I will give a dance, I will give a shout, I will share a word, I will do whatever is necessary with all of my might for God's glory. I refuse to allow the enemy to gain the upper hand over my life and It's past time due for you to gain that mentality. We are a chosen people. We are a royal priesthood and we must be unified against opposition. Come on people this is a plea from one of your own. Not some glorified preacher. Not some minister that is out for a purpose and a paycheck, this is ordinary me! This is brotha real attempting to place everybody on the same accord to become effective and strong against all else. When will you sell yourself out for God? When will you start rendering service to God with all of your might?

Granted: The Blanket of Grace

Hebrews 2:1-3
1. Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

I gotta admit that I borrowed this scripture from my Pastor from Sunday's sermon. As he was speaking on his topic, my mind dived into another. I was immersed in a sea of thought and revelation. This is what came to me.

Have you ever been in a situation that could have been worse than it actually was? Have you been involved in a trial that could of gone farther south but didn't? These things occur because of the grace that God has bestowed on us. The cliche goes: "if it had not been for God, where would I be?" It holds true! If it wasn't for God's grace and his mercy most of us would be lost causes.

The topic is"Granted: The Blanket of Grace". Grace has been granted to us. What if we took grace for granted? What if we began to abuse God's grace? What if you knew better and chose not to do better? What if God chose to snatch the blanket of grace and protection right from on top of us? We would be exposed to every danger that the devil could point our way. The truth is, you absolutely have no clue what all God has kept you from. What all was blocked from reaching you. What you have been avoiding since your birth into this world. You have no idea! Or do you?

Some have a clue of what they are being saved from and take God's grace for granted. Yea, you may be saved and acknowledged Jesus as your Savior, but you know good and well you are operating outside of God's will. You may have be sick and it could be much worse than it could be. Yet, you choose to act up at every opportunity and you disregard God's law. You get these warnings along the way, that you should stop your sinful ways, but you keep going. The next thing you know, your sickness gets worse and you're asking why! Now, you're asking God for a miracle and expect a move. You wonder why God let this happen. God was the one that was keeping all along the way. You took advantage of god's grace and now the blanket of grace has been pulled off of you and you're exposed. Whose fault is it? Ours!

Are you taking advantage of God? God's grace is sufficient, but don't expect the grace to be there when you treat God any old way. God has a sense of humor, that may not be funny to us. he has a way of getting us to open our eyes to see the err of our ways. He places this unrest in us once we foul up. we must take heed to the warnings God is giving us. We don't want to be caught up in our foolishness while taking advantage of God's grace. That blanket is very warm and comfortable and just like laying in bed, I don't wanna get out from under that cover. As my Pastor always says, "and yet there is room" and there is so much room for us to grow. There's room for us to be better. Now we just need to do it!

Popularization of the Christian Church

I was speaking to one of the church mothers one day and she was explaining to me that church isn't what it used to be when she got saved. Being an advocate of both the new and old school church, brought there by my age and experiences, I said I understand but it is a newer time. She quickly stopped me saying, "but son, we're having the issues we're having today because we're not doing things the way we used to." She went on to tell me how they don't teach the bible like they used to. Churches don't take the time to explain the scriptures in great detail to give the people understanding. Church has become convenient as opposed to a way of life. She finished in saying I feel bad for these people that are coming up now because they just might not make it in thinking they can get over on God!

I was struck and stabbed. Stricken even, with rigidy. I sat there while Motha, as our parishioners affectionately called her, spoke to me. I was getting where she was coming from. I thought about how we dance around so many issues because we don't want to step on anybody's feet. Even in my Mornin Manna texts, there are issues that I have preferred not to talk about. The fear of persecution stepped in. I thought of where the boldness of the church has gone. It definitely was very weak in today's state and definitely stronger in yesteryear.

The commercialism and accepted mockery of the church has even crept in. Now, I'm a fan of laughter, don't get me wrong. I do believe that some things should not be joked about. Yes, they do bring light to situations that need to be addressed, but they don't get addressed because people are too busy busting a gut to do anything about it. When you laugh at things, they become more acceptable because there is a smile associated with it. Do you see people laughing when someone gets killed? Raped? Assaulted? When someone comes up missing? People take that seriously and do something about it!

Then there are the tv shows that allow the "gospel artists" to perform saying whatever they will say, doing whatever they will do and giving false prophesies to whoever. This makes a mockery of the Christian faith! People view this and question how real it is. Scripture tells us to not let your good be evil spoken of. Being holy is both inward and outward actions. Its not just a belief, its a way of life! You can't be one thing and do another; it's not what God called us to be. Even on down to the televised services. You see different ones that throw their money at the pastor's feet while he's giving a word. Whether the offering is legit or not, it is viewed that they are rendering their money to the pastor and not to God. People have to be conscious of this. The preachers speak on prosperity instead of the whole bible. There's more to the bible than good health, blessings and miracles! Then the pastor's wonder why people keep falling short and victims to the world. You're not giving them the full Jesus! I'm about to feel my help coming! lol

There's a song that says "the bible is right, somebody's wrong". There is no other correct way but the bible way no matter what people say. The bible represents holiness. Holiness is right. The bible tells us what holiness is. The holy spirit lets us know when we step outside of holiness and helps us to come back and get it right. This may sound traditional, because it is! We gotta come back to the old time way. The word was true then, and it's true now. The church has got to stick to the bible, the whole bible and nothing but the bible so help us God! The word of God is going to be the only thing that will stand!

Being popular gets you followers. Being honest and true for God gets you black listed. The silver lining is that as long as the church can stick to the original standard of holy living and bible teachings, it has nothing to worry about. Those that chose not to follow what God has instructed will have to face the consequence. Let us all go back to the old time way...

The sole purpose is not to gloat or floss your prosperity, but to encourage and motivate other people to hold on and keep their faith. If God can show up and show out for me, he can definitely do the same for you too! I do hope for a great response to the post this time! You know you got something to say about the goodness of the Lawd! We are over comers by our testimony! Revelation 12:11

What say ye?

"To be loved by you, I get so excited..." I really do take time out to give thanks for being taken care of. Just to know that God has my back and has me covered under blanket of grace and mercy gives me ease of mind. We come and go so much that we forget about all the danger that we passed along the way. We fail to realize how many times he's spared our minds from snapping by granting us peace of mind. On just today, I woke up late for work and knew that I couldn't get there in time. I got in the car and started it. I said thank you for letting the car start. Now, if you can make it so that I don't catch a light!" Let me tell you I made it on time and I caught not one light on the way! Never happened before. But just an example of just how good God is! You betta get on the band wagon and catch some of God's blessings. What do people say? Get it while the getting is good!

Put On Christ

Different things happen to us that we ask ourselves, as they happen, "why?" Things go down. Things go wrong. Things don't work out. Things can't come together. You go off. You can't keep things together. You can't manage life. You can't cope. You can't make things work out for your good. Again we ask, "why?"

Do we ever thing to stop and think that if we were functioning in Christ we would have some of these answers? Do we ever think that if we acknowledged Christ in everything that we did that some of these things would cease to occur? I'm just going to put it on out there... Do we ever think about Christ?

Christ is our provider. Christ is our protector. Christ is our ambassador. Christ is our healer and our caregiver. Christ is our comforter. Christ is the light at the end of the tunnel, as well as the light on the way to the end of the tunnel! Christ is just so much, but do we ever think about Christ?

On Sunday morning, my pastor had the topic "Put on Christ". He had the thought that if we wore Christ like we were supposed to, we would be better able to walk through life as Christ wanted us to walk. being holy for Christ was Holy. I'm going to take it a step further. In Ephesians, chapter 6 verses 14-17, gives us things that we can spiritually wear to prepare ourselves to deal with our obstacles. The breastplate of righteousness is our holy morals. It's the standard that we stand for concerning God. The shield of Faith is your belief in God and all of his power and might. If your faith is strong, nothing can get past that shield. Your faith keeps you close to God! The sword of the truth is your weapon to make your enemies fall before you. The weapon that God gave is none other than the word of God. The Bible is the most effective weapon against every enemy that you will face! The helmet of salvation is what keeps your mind. The Blood that Christ shed on the cross is what protects us and makes it possible for us to be forgiven.

These things make up Christ. When you effectively wear Christ who can come against you? The scripture already tells us that no weapon formed against us will prosper, but you gotta have some kind of protection on! You don't walk in front of a bullet without protection. There's no logic in that. Put on Christ! The best armor there ever was and ever will be!

Testimony Tuesday

What say ye?

It's a very simple testimony, but not taken lightly. On this past Sunday, I was dedicated as a deacon in my church. I do give thanks because it's not a position to be under spoken, it is an important role to have. I give thanks because I have been called to a higher place in God. I've been given a role to stand in and I intend to stand firm in this position. God is moving me to places which I cannot see and I'm trusting that he will be the light unto my path leading me into righteousness.

I really was tried just this morning, while I was at work. It's funny how people will question your anointing and your purpose based on what you've done. Someone that was very close to me pushed my face in the mud, and held it there! It hurt me to tears, it really did. The tears still flow, even while typing this. It left me speechless and stumbling over words trying to express myself. the timing couldn't of been worse, because all of this came to me at the beginning of a stressful night at work. I tell you the devil knows exactly when to attack and how to attack. I got off of work and came home heavy burdened and feeling beat down. I was confused and really couldn't understand why. I fell asleep and a couple hours later I sought God. I realized that despite what people say or do to me, I must continue to trust in the Lord. I'm not going to try to understand what happened but I'm looking to God to direct me and guide me. Then this song (see youtube window above) was laid on my heart.

A Powerful Conqueror

That song has given me so much power its not funny. you really, wait lemme say it right, we really have no idea how powerful we are. We place this limit on ourselves and we shouldn't. The power that God has given us, through his holy spirit, enables us to accomplish so many things. God has the power over life and death and so do WE! Think about it... Jesus died and shed his blood so we might have eternal life. Right there we have conquered death. Through death in the physical we've gained eternal life with our Savior.

We have a mighty sword in our mouths. The word tells us to speak things as though they were and our faith will move God! We say we need this and that. Deliverance, healing, breakthroughs of every kind. Make it happen for yourself by speaking it.

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and a strong mind. You have got to tap into that power and use what God has given you! Is way past time and the saints of God are sitting stagnant acting powerless in everything. Stand up! Get your rear in gear! Having faith and sitting doing nothing is worthless. If you don't act along with your faith your faith is as dead as a leaf blowing in the wind.

I heard once that knowledge is power, use that logic with God. Get to know him and study his word and you will become stronger. The stronger you get in God, and the more faith you have, the more powerful you will be!

What say ye?

I was listening to a song, "Thank You Lord" by Walter Hawkins. I listened to the words and what stood out was "it coulda been me". I thought on those words and I started gaining reasons to tell God Thank You. I was thinking how events could of not been in my favor and i could of been dead. At the young age of 10, I suffered major head trama placing a dent in my head. When I was 15 I was supposed to be in a car that slid off the road that killed everyone in it. I was supposed to be on a bus that went off of a bridge in 2004. I was involved in an accident that should of taken my life. Even though danger was present, God saw fit for me to avoid it or to be delivered from it. I just have to give god glory because it really could of been me! I thank you Lord for all You've done for me!

Mornin Manna Text Message

Just a bit of history on Mornin Manna. I started sending a few text messages out in september of 2006. There was a young lady, and a couple of guys that expressed their distress. I sent the lady an encouraging word in efforts to lift her spirits. The guys were going through similar situations so I forwarded the same text message to the 3 of them. Not too long afterwords I received word that all had worked out for their good! It's a joy to hear a good report. Days later, I attracted someone else's distress and I, again, sent a word of inspiration. This particular text I saw was one that many could benefit from. Just like all the forwards that I get that don't benefit me, I thought about sending this text out to my immediate friends. There were about 10 people who got the message. One of the 10 sent it out to someone else and I heard, "I really needed to hear this. thank you so much!" That gave me the idea to send it to my entire phone book. I received many negative comments and even requests for me to stop sending the message. I obliged to every request. Once all the people were cut out, I was left with a total of about 40. Since September of 2006, that 40 has grown to a 143 and rising! I do give God thanks for enabling me to be used. As I've shared before, I have a vision for Mornin Manna. I'm just looking for a higher particapition so I can progress effectively.

Testimony Tuesday

It's something to be able to find time for yourself to be with yourself and by yourself. I didn't count it as a blessing to have this alone time. I complained that I was by myself. I belly ached that my "friends" didn't see fit to include me in their plans and activities. I was angry that I had nothing to do! I remembered a conversation that I had with a friend about having time to yourself and it being a benefit. This gives you time to deal with YOU! Idle time enables us to work and think on ourselves. In this idle time, I discovered some things that I needed to deal with. I thank God for allowing me to use my time to my own benefit. We are a work in progress and there is always work to be done, especially on ourselves, because we're not perfect. My testimony today is being blessed with time. After all, we must be thankful for the little things! On the other hand, how small is time?

On Nothing Less Than Jesus

Let me just apologize in advance for telling the truth. I'm feeling that this may offend some people but it is not my intent to pierce but to only inform you of what is right. So there, I said it!

I was thinking on how we tend to hold onto things. Sometimes for no apparent reason and other times for very specific reasons. Those things might be a relationship, cash, an emotion or feeling, a person, a cause, property, gambling, drugs, alcohol and even a sexual preference. (choosing words carefully) As sound minded people, we're always looking to do better for ourselves. Whether it be significantly better or minutely better. Better is better! Times come up and we question ourselves, possibly even evaluate ourselves, in why we haven't attained our desired advancement. Why haven't we done better for ourselves? You ask yourself, "Whats the problem?"

When you walk through your every day life, you tend to pick up some things, good things and bad things alike. The more you accumulate, the heavier your load will be to continue walking. I know when I go to the food store, I don't go crazy shopping. I live on the 3rd floor in my apartment building, which isn't far up, but from where I park it may be a journey! Then I have to deal with going up and down the stairs with all of those packages. After awhile of carrying the weight over and over again, going through trial after trial and situations, it will wear you down. You get tired. You must lay aside the weights that slow you down. Don't take on more than you can move swiftly with.

Bluntly speaking, you aint prospering because you're holdin onto too much garbage! How you gonna complain you dont have any money but yet you spend 20's and 20's on cigarrettes? If you buying drugs and/or alcohol, how you gonna save any money? Helloooooo! How do you expect someone to love you when you can't get over the pain and insecurities you have for yourself? You gotta start doing these things for yourself! God will help you but you gotta take that first step! You are not incompetant you can do something for yourself. Faith without works is dead! How do you expect to settle down with someone if you can't tell what you what you want to settle down with? (chose words carefully again) We blame God for this and that when we are the ones that are holding onto these things causing us detriment! The problem is us and has always been us! We're the ones that are holding onto our trial instead of holding onto or victory in faith! I feel my help coming, lol lemme get back on subject and stict to my script!

We, me included, must consider if we're holding on to something that does not mean us any good. Are we clutching to things that aren't prospering us? Are we battling an addiction that we're just not winning? Are we holding onto a weigh that's not getting any lighter? Are we stuck to a "thing" that we can't free ourselves from? I'm sending out a Mornin Manna text today about how we should loose these things that are hindering us. If your goal is set on Jesus, and you truly wish to make it, then all you have to do is make that first step and put that thing(s) down. Paul said in Philippians chapter 3 that he willingly chose to rid himself of somethings and counted them not a loss because he was focused on knowing Jesus. He was focused on attaining the favor of God. Determined, he shed his weights and concentrated on Him. Its not a hard thing to do, just have a mind to walk away from your weight. A song says "oh what peace we do not carry because we do not carry everything to God in prayer".

If you build your faith on Jesus, you wont fail at leaving your burdens behind. When you experience God for yourself, you wont even miss the things of old because you're experiencing the greatness of God! I encourage you to examine yourself, as I examine me, to determine what you are holding onto that is hindering your prosperity and advancement in life and in Jesus.

I'm just going to take this time out to give thanks to God for giving me a vision. I wish to thank Him for making me determined and stedfast. I know sometimes things dont work out the way we want them to at times, or when we want them to, but I am content in knowing that I am doing what I am supposed to do. I am pressing forward, being the example that God expects us to be. I may not have support, or even someone encouraging me to keep going on, but I do have the strength that God gives me. That is what sustains me. That is what motivates me. That is what keeps me going. I end by saying again, THANK YOU!

I really do get tired of people that come down too hard on those that are new to the church scene and are beginners in spirituality. They did not reach where they are in Christ overnight, but somehow they expect the newcomers to be perfect. Don't let them mess up, the world has to know and you have to be made example of and put in the spotlight. We're all human and we're all coming from the same place, which is a sinful state. We are all the same!

As babes in Christ, just in an actual baby, we need to grow, develop and mature. It takes a lifetime to mature in the natural, and even emotional. It takes a great deal to do the same in the spiritual. Once you are a self dedicated Christian, you have declared your belief in Jesus Christ as the Savior. From here, lets call it spiritual training.

When you start a new job, most, if not all, people ask many questions. Despite how much they ask questions, they are bound to mess up. Someone has to come along and let them know what they did was wrong, why it was wrong and how not to do it again. When we first accept Christ, we are at that infant stage. We need nurturing. We will be learning, but we will be messing up. We will have to hit that "do over" button over and over again! We gotta try and try again until we get things right. Through multiple efforts we will come to realize God is helping us all along the way. If he's not, that could be the primary indicator to why we are failing so often. Especially if its the same thing that we're messing up on!

As God helps us in making fewer mistakes, your growth is increasing. You are maturing. You've moved past repenting every 5 minutes to repenting a few times a day. Yes, things happen. Yes, we may not mean to do them or even be aware that we did them. Instances are decreasing and that is the goal! Focusing on holiness and what God expects from us. Doing things like reading the bible will help you. Praying helps you. Fasting helps you. Meditation helps you. All topics that will be coming up in the near future.

What say ye?

I'm gonna put mine out there first, I mean I must set off by example! This isn't a testimony about how God will provide, nor about how God is able. This is one that shows God as a comforter. It shows that God is still right there watching. I'm writing this because there are so many times when I doubted God was there for me. I would see different signs here and there. I would experience different things, but nothing that specifically told me that God was there. On not two occasions, but three, God showed himself to me. I was sleeping in the bed one day and I just didn't have any strength to get out of bed. I was tired and I was weak; exhausted if you will. I laid there and heard in the clearest of voices, "Daniel" I sat up and looked around. I felt an energy like I never felt before. I sat back and looked that day I was going to sit there and miss work was the last day in that pay period I would work. That check payed my rent and put food in the fridge! There is a guy that has been feeding my soul, reaffirming that God is there and more than able. Twice now I have gotten an encouraging word from him, sowing encouragement into my life. God is very real for me and I know him to be great. That's my Testimony - Brotha Real

It's a total package!

I've been wanting to do a piece on how to have faith. I also have been wanting to do a piece on how to pray effectively. The more I thought on the two, the more I realized that they are related. There was a missing component to the two. In order to have strong faith, in order to have a powerful prayer, you need to have a relationship with God! As the cliche goes, first things first.

At the risk of sounding traditional, you gotta repent of your sins. This shows that you know you've done something that you had no cotton pickin' business doing! It take humbleness to admit your wrong doing and even more to ask for forgiveness! When you do this you are asking God to create in you a clean heart. You are loosing yourself of your iniquities and the things that made you dirty. It's like walking up to the President of the United States of America, you can't just go to him, or maybe her someday, any old way. You gotta clean up, present yourself in a way that the President will see you. Don't get me wrong, God sees all! He is also looking at your effort in how you come to him. He is God you know, he deserves honor and respect!

From the moment you repent of your sins, your relationship with God begins. What strengthens your relationship is meditation, adoration, praise and worship, and studying the Word that God has given us. When your relationship grows with God, you will see your faith start to increase. As you walk along the path called life, you'll see certain things, things that God will do for other people which will strengthen your faith. You'll see things that happen to others and dangers and hard times that God moves out your way which will give you a reason to be thankful. While looking back on those things you know what God can do, which in turn will strengthen your faith. With your increase in faith comes confidence and power from God. If you are certain and established in your faith you have that power!

There is so much that I can fit into this post, regarding all the topics mentioned, but I want you to get the full experience of what I'm speaking of. Look forward in the near future for these posts. Don't forget about Testimony Tuesday tomorrow either!

You can't be great without getting a lil hate. The Bible says we'll be persecuted, but I encourage you to hold onto your faith.

The scripture text came from: 2nd Timothy 3:10-15

Seems like there's always that 1 jerk; that 1 ignorant person that doesn't know how to keep their mouth shut. When you're doing good, there's always someone to try to bring you down. It's unfortunate, I know, but it's evident also! Momma used to say, "As long as you're doing good, expect something bad to happen." I never understood this, but as the older folks say, you'll understand it better by and by, I began to understand. I came up with this quote, "You can't be great without getting a lil bit of hate!" I like it because it's real.

The better you make yourself, the better you try to do for yourself, someone will be watching and someone will have something to say. It will not always be constructive. It's a shame to say that some of the very people that you interact with may be the same people that mean you that harm! Regardless of their agenda, it is our job as Christians to forgive them. Its our job as Christians to love them. Scripture says that we are to love and pray for those that despitefully use us. Kill them with your kindness; give them no room for satisfaction. It's not such an easy thing to do, and you'll mess up sometimes trying to do it, but you must try. The more you're tried, the better you'll be at resisting the enemy.

Don't be discouraged if you're that one that is playing by the rules and things fall apart. Keep at it. Keep doing that good. If the devil waste the energy to tempt and try you that must mean you're more valuable than you know! The devil doesn't waste his time with people who he has already claimed, he wants to mess with those that has a divine purpose. As the Mornin Manna said for today, I encourage you to hold on to your faith. Keep going on, and keep staying strong. We are to strive for greatness in Jesus, just watch out for the haters that come along to distract you and drag you off the path headed towards salvation.

Just a lil blessing

I've joined that made a way outta no way groups. I'm going to be brief, only because I'm at work and I don't have much more time to type. I was faced with a dilemma on trying to pay my rent. God made a way to aid me with paying my rent. I only pay about 38% of my rent. Then, I didn't have the funds to pay my last full months rent before the change took effect. God made a way for that rent to be paid in full. God has truly made a way out of no way for me and I didn't even see it coming. I didn't ask God what to do, I gave him my situation in faith that all would work out for my good! I know I love the Lord and he heard my cry and he came a rushing to my aid when I needed him. All it takes is just a little faith! I'm just taking this time out to tell God Thank You for all he's done and is doing for me. Let this be an instance that God can do! Yes, he will do! Lemme go, cause I feel my help coming...

And God Spoke

I've been in church all of my life. I call myself being a man of faith. I pray. I fast. I Study my bible. I seek the Lord. There was something that bothered me. Whenever I would be in a situation, and I wanted to hear from God, I never would hear anything. I would hear from different church goers and saved family members that "God said..." and I can't say the same. I've been led and things have been shown to me but I don't have one of those "God said..." moments to share until today.

I came home last night from work and was really tired. I started working both of my jobs again and my body is not liking the adjustment. I was physically tired and knew I had to be at work at a certain time. I said I couldn't do it. I rolled over and began to rest. In the midst of my slumber I heard a powerful voice call out my name and I immediately woke up. I gained my strength and became alert while I gathered my things and walked out the door.

On my way to work it was all I could think of. I heard my name! It was clear. It was something like I've never heard before. It stirred me so that I couldn't lay there any more. It may seem like nothing to some, but to me it means much to hear a word from the Lord. A song speaks of one Rhema word designed with God's expertise which is tailor made for me. God spoke and revealed himself to me. I am so thankful for that word, which was my name.

When God speaks there will be a response. He said let there be light, along with a host of other things, and it became so! The sun, wind, moon, stars, earth and everything else shall yield to God. There is power, more than we can imagine, behind every word that God speaks. More importantly, there is meaning to everything He has to say. So, my word of encouragement to you is to hearken unto the voice of the Lord. Listen and obey his words and commandments and you will find yourself among the kept and blessed. I know I wanna be blessed and for sure I wanna be kept! Be encouraged!

WARNING: Slippery!

I'm up and I can't sleep. I felt compelled to write about slipping. You know, walking around and losing grip and swaying and moving about in a fashion that you might not have complete control of. What I thought was cool about slipping is when you slip, as long as you can find something sturdy enough, you can prevent yourself from falling! Wondering if anyone is catching on...

Donnie McClurkin sang about falling and getting up again. In order to get up you must have a firm or somewhat stable ground to rest upon and stand. If you get back up and you're on shaky ground, there is always a risk that you can fall in the same spot once again. The idea is to get back up and move on, walking on solid ground. Thinking if someone might be putting this together...

Is there anything, or hmmm anybody, that can be stable and sturdy and keep us from falling and yet be there every time to help us when we've fallen? Every time I turn around, Jesus is right there with his hand outstretched for times of need. Every time I lose my balance I can call on Jesus and that same hand is there to keep me from falling. The lovely part is what happens when we don't acknowledge him in all of our ways. We go down the shaky path of destruction and fall. We might be down in the dirt for a lil while. When we come to our senses, and realize that Jesus is the way the truth and the light, that same hand is still waiting for us to pick us up and place us on a solid ground to stand! Oh how wonderful is Jesus!

Scripture tells us that the most righteous man can fall and make mistakes. God is faithful and just to forgive us, as long as we acknowledge our error and place Jesus at the head of our lives! Don't forget to confess Jesus with your mouth, believe him in your heart. You CAN know Jesus for yourself!

Elevated Expectations!

You know the Church of God in Christ has a reputation for having radical preachers. I have a cousin that tends, who is a National evangelist for COGIC, and when I go to hear him preach he tells me to listen and watch the audiences reactions. He likes to sneak realism under the radar and wants me to notice the congregation's reactions. One time he was speaking on be careful what you say. Then minutes later he shouted to say amen if you're a liar! Out of no where the church said amen! It was followed by silent chatter of people saying "did he just say that", lol! All of that to introduce what another preacher said this past Friday night at a yearly meeting. He was talking about being hurt and healed. Then he asked the church, "how many of you have ever been hurt in the church?" I kid you not in saying practically every hand was raised!

Why is it that the church, the house where the spirit of the Lord is supposed to dwell, is a place where people are being hurt. I had to sit back in my seat and remove myself from the service and ponder this. I began to think on certain accounts of people who have told me that church folk are nasty, they judge you, and that's why they don't go to church. Again, I asked myself, "Why?" Why is the church this way? I came to the conclusion which rests on the expectancy of people.

People have an image. They don't wish anyone to see the dirt in their yard, so they point out the dirt in someone else's yard to deter focus. Therefore, you keep your self appointed image. However, what has just occurred is you've just damaged somebody's character and discouraged someone from wanted to come back into the house of God. Its a very dangerous game and most church goers are playing it, and it's damaging the body of Christ. If we can remember that we all are human and are subject to making the same mistakes than we can focus on elevating ourselves to a higher level in Christ being the examples that we are meant to be instead of pretending!

What happens when you place someone on a pedestal, that's not God, and expect much from them, when they can't deliver, the world is over! Go tell Sista Soandso and Brotha Biznessminda. From an outside view, the church is no better than the streets, so why should the come to church? More damage to the body of Christ as well as a stunted growth! Worry about yourself and your relationship in God. Put your faith and trust in God, not in man! As man, we can fail. Not saying that we fail all the time but in Christ there is no failure! You cannot be disappointed in God! Psalm 146:3 says, "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help." Proverbs 3:5 tells us to "Trust in the Lord with all of thine heart..."

Stop placing so much weight on people. Worry about you and your salvation and everything else will work out just fine. Work on being filled with God's holy spirit, which comes with love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance which will bring one another together in unity because we all will have god's spirit living within us!

Lately, I've been going through some things. I've been sick in my body, unfortunate in affairs of the heart, missing chances that could change my financial status. I've seen the emergency room on more than one occasion, and seeing the dollar amount in my bank account decrease without significant increase. If anyone knows, it's harder to recover physically when your mental and emotional wellness are wounded. Subconsciously, I was building the blocks of a structure called depression.

I called friends, sometimes their words offered relief but none led me through the tough time. Slowly, the structure grew larger. I woke one day to silence. There was no noise in the entire place. Sun was shining in the apartment at about 6am. I dressed and went for a walk nowhere. I saw joggers, commuters, cars and buses. Eventually, I ended up at a park. I walked a ways into the park and sat on a bench, doing nothing. I sat and stared. I got up and walked some more. I then ended up at a lil pond with some benches next to it. It had a fountain in it, which was relaxing to watch. I sat. I relaxed my mind. I began to place things into perspective.

I thought about my health. I may be sick, with however many things I have wrong with me, but my heart still beats. I have full function of my body with all of my limbs. I thought about my money. I have a job. No, it doesn't pay a lot. Yea, it can be a headache sometimes! Yea, I could get more hours, but I have both Sunday and Thursday off for church. The shift they give me allows me to work a second job in the morning. Most importantly, I'm not broke! I was placing things into perspective!

I'm 24 years old and can only account for one major relationship. I'm a guy and we get lonely too. We long for company just as females do. I believe guys don't make as big of an issue as females do! I've silently wondered why I seem to have a difficult time finding a companion! I said companion because I really am looking for that 1 person that I can spend the rest of my life with. I got annoyed with the whole process of looking. I was angered after dismissing prospect after prospect. I had to then realize that i would rather dismiss than to settle. If I take my time and have more patience with selecting, I will have less problems in the long run! I need to wait.

After placing things into perspective, I must say that I don't have it bad. So many others have it worse than I do! I complain a lot; it's true! I want things when I want them; no denying that! I called a few people and I shared these thoughts with them and they advised me to just be patient. "Good things come to those that wait, just keep waiting!" "I've been there before, I thought it would never turn around but it did, just hold out!" "You're just goin through growing pains, It'll be alright!"

The purpose of this post is to pass along a lil bit of encouragement to those that need a friendly word. Sometimes things may be rough and may get hard, but place some things into perspective. Trouble doesn't last always. Keep moving on! Blessings are coming your way, just keep your faith and focus on God! We must be reminded that its not going to be peaches and cream all the time, there's gonna be some gruel sometimes! Victory has already been promised to us. Just as Christ has overcome the world, we who live in Christ have overcome it also! John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Come As You Are!

The Bible is often quoted for having scripture that doesn't exist. We often add things to the Bible for our own comfort and advantage. "Money is the root of all evil". Scripture says that "FOR THE LOVE of money is the root of all evil". How about this one, "God helps those who helps themselves"? I really like that one because God shows up in the exact moment when we can't do anything for ourselves and picks us up! What kind of God would just sit there and remain helpless? Not my God! Then there is "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" and a few more. The one that I wanted to talk about in this post was "Come as you are".

People use this statement to accomplish a few agendas. They will come into church dressed any ol' way and say the bible told me to come as I am. Not so boo boo, SORRY! Let me just say this. When you wanna go to the club you will make sure you got the fresh jeans, the cleanest shoes or sneakers, make up or whatever done up, hair done tight and you are looking sharp as a tack! Why is it when you enter the house of God, the same God that allowed you to shake whatever you shook, drank whatever you drank, and allowed you to see another day, you look like a hobo? God is not pleased! I'm sorry to tell y'all, but it's not right! The things we do for the world in our day to day life, we should be able to either do the same or better for God! That's the truth anyhow!

Lemme think, hmmm... how about the ones that think they can bring their habits into the church and continue the habits in the church. Whether it be a ungodly lifestyle, habit or addiction, yes you enter that way. You don't continue that way! You choose God so you can become a better person, a godly person! Which, in turn, will inherit you a seat in heaven! Don't come go to God, don't go to church doing the same things that you were doing before. There has to be a change. God is the one that changes you, allow the change to take place!

When you "come as you are", you are really going to God. You may be in a church, sanctuary, synagogue, temple or wherever you're at, but you're really meeting God. You may be burdened, broken, bound and bruised. You may be conflicted, confused, abused or weary. Whatever state you're in, the Bible says in Matthew 11:28, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." You've got to make that choice to do better. You've got to make that choice to keep doing better. You've got to make Jesus your number one choice. Once you choose him he will begin to work on you if you allow him. If you really don't want to be changes, the change will not happen! Come to God with a willing heart and a do right mind and you will see your life begin to change for the better. This is what the real meaning of "come as you are" represents. We've got to do better.

Once you come as you are then you are not meant to stay as you were! It's all about stepping up our game and bettering ourselves so we can set the new example for the ones that will come after we do. If they see a non-progressive so-called saint that is stagnant, do you think they will want to step into the body of Christ? No, of course not, because you look like filth with a tie on sitting in the choir! The bottom line is to be the best for God that we can be. Making it to heaven and bring someone along with is!

Struggles!

I'm fed up. I'm really bothered by people that think they are better than you. I don't wanna blast preachers, but I wanna put people on blast! I wish that I can go to church and get preached to instead of being preached down on. I go to church to be encouraged. I go to church to be lifted. I go to church for healing. I go to church to be a blessing to someone else! I do not to go to church to leave feeling worse than I did before I got there! I did not come to church to be further burdened down. I was agitated when I came across a victim of this.

When people come across you and you open up to them in efforts for help and they automatically condemn you to hell. My skin rose when I heard of an instance where this happened. People come to church for help, seeking solutions, and not to be sent to hell! Let me first say this, people do NOT have a heaven nor hell to place you in. Secondly, if this is happened to you, as a member of the body of Christ I apologize on their behalf. They handled you in the wrong way. We are to have love one towards another. We are to season our words with love, not to offend. Again, I apologize.

We gotta realize that we all have issues. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We all have a struggle that we go through. Listen here, and Listen good! Sin is Sin. There is no sin that is greater than the other. What is sin? All unrighteousness is sin! Whether you cuss, steal, lie, cheat, fornicate, struggle with sexual urges all around. It is all the same, despite what people may!

I recommend that people go to God. God is no respecter of persons. God's love covered a multitude of sins. After all, God only wants us to choose him and be open and honest with him! This is why David was a man after God's own heart because he was honest with God. David was a liar, a fornicator, and a murderer! He slept with another man's wife, felt guilty and tried to cover things up because the wife got pregnant. Then he sent the husband into the front line of battle to ensure his death. That's downright grimey, for real for real! He knew he was out of line and went to God and poured his wrong doing out! God forgave him. It came at a price, but he was still forgiven!

Paul even confessed his dealings to the people. He put it right on out here that he had issues. we're not perfect and the more we realize that Jesus is the only perfect one and we all are still striving towards perfection, the sooner we realize that EVERYONE is indeed reaching towards that same goal!

Don't belittle others because of their struggles, because let it be known your struggles and you wouldn't feel so hot now would you? It doesn't feel good to have your sin thrown in your face so don't do it to others! Like I said earlier, its all about love! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! you can't get enough love! Keep showing it. Keep extending it. Love does last and we are to have love towards one another! Not out of obedience, but out of desire!

I urge upon you to bring your struggles to God. I urge you to be honest with God. He already knows your story, he just wants you to admit it to yourself so you can admit it to him so he can begin to work on you. Lay it all on God!

It's that time again! Testimony Tuesday!!! Yea come on and share what all God has done for you. I'm excited today. Let me explain why...

I've been swimming in the shallow pool of job classifieds and let me tell you, it's not that easy to find substantial work. I ran my figures together with my two nickles of jobs I have and it didn't add up to a dime, lol. I looked at my expenses and my income and they were running quite similiar. With very little excess. I didn't exactly like that. Everyone likes to have spending money, at the very least rainy day money! Well with my calculations, that would of been next to nothing. I would be living paycheck to paycheck. Plus, I was looking at a summer season of unemployment. That's always no fun. So, I started swimming thrugh the job classifieds. I didn't see much that would help me out of my situation, but only help. I saw only one ad that it seems as if I were completely qualified for it. I decided to send my resume in. I was excited when I sent the email off on Thursday night. I was in good spirits most of the weekend past. I got my over the phone interview Monday, and aced it with flying colors!

I was informed at the end of that phone call that I should be expecting to hear a followup interview and be scheduled to be interviewed even further. I gotta give thanks for working this job situation out in a timely mannor. He is truly providing for me like I have never seen him provide. Y'all chack this out:

With no experience, which I have much upon much experience, candidates start with 30,000.
No Sundays or nights except for Christmas and Easter
Full health benefits and something else that sounded good!
401k
20 paid vacation, personal days
paid sick days
opportunity for growth into other better paying positions

My expenses hit 1,200 a month. When I get hired I'll be able to save substantial money per month without it hurting me! Plus, I'll still have spending money! God is good... In a recession that the world is in, the body of Christ is yet being kept blessed!

I pray that this will be a blessing to someone today and will encourage someone to dare to trust GOD. So I have an unusual blessing for my current employment. It’s flexible enough to allow me to go to school and still work full time. However, because I am an on call employee, there are times when my work schedule and school schedule conflict and that’s what essentially “ALMOST” happened. You see when you are blessed and highly favored no good thing will our Father with hold from you. So I stood on a promise he whispered to me many years ago when I first got saved. Upon his return he informs that I was not only off for the rest of Sunday, (yes he allowed me to go home early!), Monday, and Tuesday. But he was also going to pay me for the full day of SUNDAY!!! Now I don’t know about you but my GOD gave me a “Favor Shield.” Every time I come into contact with the world people go out of there way to bless me and prosper me. Rules, regulations, and laws are changed on behalf. And most importantly Battles I face I know are already won. I don’t have to fight them because my GOD fights them for me. If you for one moment don’t think our GOD is able to do the small trivial things then how do you have expectations for the great and big things? Today Zion I urge and also dare you to TRUST him, all it takes is faith of a mustard seed and if you can’t do that then watermelon seeds will do! Let Go and Let HIM SHOW AND SHOW OUT…

Ahhhh, its Tuesday, so you know what that means... TESTIMONY TUESDAY!!! Last week Someone finally a testimony, Maybe someone will post one this week... We'll see...

Nothing really spectacular has really happened to me this past week, but I must give credit to God for keeping me from one week to the next. For without God, I wouldn't be kept! Without God, I wouldn't be here typing this for you. As Evangelist Lilian Lloyd said in the song "One More Chance", I coulda been Koo Koo, I coulda been DEAD and sleeping in my grave. So many things could of happened to me in just one weeks time, I give God Thanks for allowing me to make it this far! We gotta say thank you for the little things. Without the lil things the big things seem far away!

I came across this and I asked the blogger if I could post it, obviously he consented! here it is:

Yes, I know I've been lax with posting here... I've been busy but I promise I'll do better. Well It's that time again, Testimony Tuesday! It's that time to tell what amazing, miraculous and unbelievable things that God has done for you. As usual, I'll go first...

Some may know, others may not know, but I've been in the process initially of finding an apartment and secondly moving into this apartment. Let me set up the background. I'm employed on a per diam basis and work a part time second job to give me spending money. I'm on a very strict budget and cannot afford expensive rent. I didn't wish to live in a severely urban area. Yea I said it, I didn't want to move to the ghetto as black folk and others call it! Any other areas are pricey and way outside of my reach. I began to lose hope but I knew that God was going to supply my needs. He said he would and I was trying my best to stand on that. I found a nice apartment and it was outside of my reach, and I had to pay all of my utilities. It wasn't terribly outside of my reach so I decided to take a step out on faith and see what God would do. I prayed that if this apartment was for me let it be for me and if it wasn't for me to block me from getting it. He did just that. He blocked me from being able to walk away from it! The rent was brought down into my reach and utilities were thrown in. He also allowed most of the first month's rent to be taken off giving me more money to put into the apartment. It was a test of patience but after much waiting I was able to move into my apartment on the 23rd of April.

God is good. It took much physical strength and sweat but I'm in my new home and it is feeling more homey as the days go on! I hope to see some more testimonies today!Remember you may post in the comments or you may click EMAIL HERE and I'll post the emails to the blog. Happy Posting!!!

I'm just gonna set this thing up beginning with bible verses. Here we go...

Mark 5:25-34

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Let me lay out this story. It's about this woman who was sick, commonally known as the woman with the issue of blood. She was sick in her body and wanted her healing. So she went and did what any normal person would do, she went to see the Dr.! Picture this, she went to the doctor and they tried one thing. It didn't work. then she went to another doctor and then they told her the same thing! She began to spend all of her money on all of these physcians trying to be healed. What's wrong with this is she took things into her own hands. She began to work on her own. As a result, she lost her money, had nothing, and still was sick!

She heard that Jesus was in town and she immediately knew that the fix for her problem rested in Him. The only thing that she wanted was a healing and knew who could make it possible. Her faith positioned her for this healing. Her faith enabled her to attain her healing. By her faith, in touching the garments of Jesus, she was healed!

Examining what happened, she could have easily believed on Jesus and attained her healing. Instead of believing she needed that touch. Get this, she didn't even touch Jesus, she just came close and touched his garment. All we need to do is work our way close to Jesus! Get near Him to catch that annointing that he has for you. Get close to Him to attain the healing and deliverance that you desire. All it takes is a strong desire, on your behalf, to get closer to God and the things that God has in store for you can be yours!

Matthew 6:33 says that we need to seek the kingdom of God FIRST! That means that in order to get these things that we desire (healing, deliverance, breakthroughs, tangibles), we need to first concentrate on God. We need to better our relationship with God. Fasting to control our flesh so we don't fall out of line in our desires. First things first, seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

A Powerful Prayer

A good friend of mine is going in a financial stress during an employment strain. It's a hard time for all of us but some are feeling it harder than others. He contacted me yesterday and told me about a potential job. I could sense the excitement about the whole thing. Moving on... he asked me to pray for him and I did. I prayed for God to grant him the job if it was in his will. I prayed for a door to be opened in his favor. I prayed for the favor of God to be on him as he goes through the interview process. I prayed for the ease of transition from one job to the other.

The power comes from one another touching and agreeing on the same purpose in unity. Where there is unity there is strength! (demonstrated in Acts 2nd chapter) I employ you, that know the power of prayer and how to get a prayer through, to join me in this prayer. When you can be unselfish that you can forget about yourself anc concentrate on the needs of others, god will begin to move. I pray that God's will be done!

It's Time!

I'm not a "fire and brimstone" type of speaker or writer. I'm not one of those "you're going to hell" types either! I'm one of those real types that likes to say things the way they are and put the truth out there. The title of this post is named "It's Time".

Time for what you might ask. Time for whom? It's time right now? Somebody told me that there's no time like the present. I was given this word while on the way to work this morning. We, as believers, need to realize that it's time for us to stop playing around on God. It's time for us to begin to take God seriously! Yes, he seems to have a sense of humor, but God is not to be played with. Nor is God to be taken lightly.

That premeditated sin that we plan on doing and taking God's grace and mercy for granted needs to stop. The talking about our neighbor behind their back, even sometimes directly in front of them, needs to stop! Our selfish desires and covetousness needs to be set aside. It's time for us to be about our Father's business and begin to fill our callings and purposes that God has for us! For real, enough is enough!

I fall right in line with some of this myself. Yea, I'm guilty! But I have a feeling if this was a message thrown across somebody's pulpit in a church there wouldn't be too many hoopers and hollerers and AMENs going forth! Folk get quiet when you talk about change. Folk get quiet when you tellin them about themselves! If you wanna take it a lil bit farther, they might even flee from you because they don't wanna hear the truth! If you take heed to the truth and dwell in it you will be dwelling in liberty! The truth is what sets you free! Why do you think when you're less than honest with someone it becomes a chain link of lies and turmoil? That chain of unrighteousness, lies, deceit, and dishonesty has bound you up! Those heavy chains are weighing you down! You've got to break yourself loose and leave those chains behind! My brother always said, "Aint nothin to it but to do it!" Meaning, all it takes is a made up mind. It's time people!

Time is winding up and nobody knows when their time will be to go and meet your maker. Nobody knows when you will be called to see if you are in the Lamb's book of life! Nobody knows when Jesus is coming back! While there is still yet time left to work with, let’s put ourselves to work and be about something serious, something Godly serious! When will we realize that it's time?

Some people may call it intuition, a feeling, luck or anything else but giving credit to God, but I know God kept me from being involved in a car accident. While on my way to church, and leaving Walmart, I was driving and I take notice of this Honda civic that is driving like a maniac! I mean swerving, speeding and cuttin folk off! At this time he's nowhere near me. I, for some reason, am being led to turn away from my lane into a lane that puts me out of my way. Why? I have no clue but I went. As soon as I put the blinker on, the Honda swerves directly at me full force. He was in my blind spot on my right and I was going to get in my left lane. I hear the skid marks and engine roars, which alert me to his presence. I laid on my horn and began to get over as soon as possible. I was made aware of the danger and was provided with an escape. For you that don't know I really woulda tried to speed up to this joker and give him some tail lights and road rage in return, but I didn't even have the urge. I was taken outta that situation and was kept safe from this danger. I gotta say THANK YOU GOD!!! Cause I hate dealing with insurance peoples! lol

I'm looking to move out on my own at the moment. Looking for an apartment is really hard. Finding the right area, looking in the right cities, and finding something that fits in your budget! It's HARD! Right now my income is substantial, but it isn't consistent. I have to remember that I don't have work during the summer, due to teachers not having work available. That's not the greatest of conditions of looking for a place, on a shaky budget. What if something goes wrong? What if this? What if that? There is a great amount of "what ifs" that can be spread. I want you to know that my God shall supply all of my needs. I am seeing the signs of the things I will need coming together for my good and it's happening in a timely fashion. Work is becoming more stable and income is becoming more consistent. Which will give me an opportunity to pay off bills early, save money for the rainy season, and be comfortable! God is able and he is in the process of setting me up for success. I've adopted a new tag line, "God is still good"! It has so much power behind it its not even funny! Despite what comes up and what rises against me, I know God is still good! He's my provider and will always be that!

I hope the real things that come forth will strengthen and encourage someone! Y'all go head and be blessed ya hear!

Testimony Tuesday

I really would like to institute a Testimony Tuesday. This would be an open forum in the comments section of the posts for people give their testimony about whatever they've gone through and have a story about. I thought of the significance of testimonies and they are very important. There are so many people that have trouble believing that certain things are possible. They believe miracles are possible but unlikely to happen for them. If we can make a log of them for readers to see, then someone may be encouraged to keep on believing!

I want to do this in 2 ways. One, the above commenting on this post. Two, you may email me your stories and testimonies and post them to the blog. EMAIL HERE Credit will be given only by request and all postings will be anonymous unless I'm otherwise told.

I hope this works well... Here's mine:

One, I'm not the most law abiding NJ driver. I speed, I pass on the right, I honk my horn and I catch minor cases of road rage! One time I was caught up in the law. I was given a ticket for driving with a suspended license, suspended registration and an expired insurance card. Yeah I was wrong. I was actually knew about the insurance and the registration. I had no clue on the license! So, I go to court and instead of pleading not guilty and working out a plea and working the tickets down, or whatever the whole lying process is, I get into court and tell the absolute truth. "Yeah, I was speeding! Yeah, I was wrong!" The court room went silent! You know the lil chatter that goes on in the background when you're in court! lol The judge asked me if I knew what I was admitting to. I replied, "yes!" He looked at me and said he's dismissing the charge for the ticket, the registration and charging me for not having my proper insurance card at the time of check. The truth will set you free for real! I told the truth and got away with paying less that $200 including cost of court. I was facing jail time! and more than almost $1000 in fines! God is still Good. Trust in God and see that he will bring you through!

Stop Watching Me!!!

When I was younger, talking about maybe 14 or 15 years old, my mom would always tell me that I couldn't go certain places. She wouldn't let me do certain things and advised me not to hang with certain people! I couldn't really understand at the moment, but as parents always say, "you'll understand better later down the line!" She would always end the interaction with the line, "Don't let your good be evil spoken of." Romans 14:16 I dismissed her and sometimes went ahead and did what I wanted anyway! I can say I do get what and why she did what she did.

Sometimes the people we surround ourselves with may not be on the same agenda as we are. It's said that birds of a feather flock together. If you hang wit gangs, or you're spotted with a gang member, people are going to think you're rollin wit them! If you don't smoke and you're outside with smokers people will think you smoke! You could have the most innocent of cases, and try to mean the most good, but if somebody sees you in a compromising situation, they will call you out. Especially if you're a pronounced Christian! It's happened to me on a few occasions! I've had to catch myself many times. It happens to the best of us! Pastors will give church members a ride home from service and someone sees them in the car and now people will think the worst!

You can't stop people from talking, because that is what people will do, TALK! They will gossip your name into the ground! What we have to do is stop giving out ammunition to people to use against us! We have to remember we are a part of this world but we aren't to be conformed to its standards and its way of thinking and functioning. Romans 12:2 We are different. People should be able to spot us because we're different. 1 Peter 2:9

As Christians people are going to be watching us. People are going to call us out on what we do, when we do it and how we do it! For some unknown reason, they know a Christian when they see one! They will call you out! They look to discredit us. If we're not leading by example, how can we expect a dying world to change and look to Jesus?

Unconditional Love

My God! Lol I was just listening to some foolishness on an un-named christian radio station. I was up to my neck in disgust! The preacher was talking about the saying or phrase "God's love is unconditional" was a false statement. My eyes opened so wide and alertness came from the hills to my aid! I needed my full attention to see where this man was going with this. I was hoping that it was some sort of attention grabber, but no! He was serious with it!

He went on to say things on the conditions that Jesus said. I actively listened! He made mention of John 8, I believe 30-35 talking about if we follow Jesus and the truth sets us free is a condition! That has no ground! Lol! Then he went on to say he condemns us to hell. "How can God's love be unconditional if he condemns some to hell?" Sheer foolishness I thought. You have to be aware of false teachings by false prophets. They will twist and turn the Word of the Lord around and cause confusion! Be careful!

Stabbing at whatever garbage this man was speaking... "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16. God is covering the whole world in this statement. If you wish to be particular, the world could be referred as the sinners. The saints wouldn't be considered the world because we are not conformed to the world, we are transformed by the renewal of our minds in Christ Jesus! Either way you put it, the love was spread over all of us because of Christ's blood that was shed!

God loves us all. Remember God hates sin. You must separate the two. The sinner may be saved by grace. But what is he being saved from? The sin and unrighteousness! That is left behind, because God doesn't like that! God's love is unconditional. You must realize, regardless of how much God loves you, if you're mixed up in sin, do not expect to enter in the kingdom of heaven!

Four P's

I was sitting in service one Sunday afternoon and got this revelation. It was more a thought and I ran away with it and the result is this post! You have to Press with Power, Persevering in Prayer! When the Lord gave me this I was sitting in service trying to draw something, anything, from the service. I thank God for giving it to me!

Press, meaning to go on despite of circumstance or situation. Most often people talk about pressing their way to church, despite of work, health etc! Instead I'm going to stab at it from another angle. Press to accomplish what thus saith the Lord. Too often we hear instruction from the Lord and we either ignore it or complain about it being too difficult. Get this, here is where your pressing comes into play! Despite what self and flesh say, get that made up mind that you're going to do what thus saith the Lord! Press to obey. Press to follow the word! It's not easy, I'm the perfect one to tell you, it's not easy! You'll fall so many times. Learn from your failure and get back up and continue to press! Despite EVERYTHING, there is a blessing in pressing!

Power, hmmm Power is such a majorly strong part of the 4 P's. That power, that God has given and instilled in us, is so great. When we tap into our faith, the power we have is unmeasurable! We can perform miracles in Jesus name! I remember when I was younger, about 8 years old, and my mother was cleaning the collards in the kitchen. I found her crying. I asked, "Mom, what's wrong?" She replied, "I just have this headache!" Without hesitation, I prayed aloud claiming an immediate healing of her headache. I remember asking God for a "miraculous move" and she got it moments later. She looked at me in amazement. The power I had as a child, only because I believed! You've got to believe you have the power, only because God said you have it!

Persevering, seeing things through to the end! There are going to be some rough roads and some bumpy highways. There will be sickness, there will be unfortunate events, there will be death, there will be a time for you to be put through a test. Whatever test that is, it will build your faith! Trials to build your faith in God. They come to see how much and how long you will trust in Jesus! Spit n the Devil's face and tell him you're not going to win and turn your back to him. You've got to persevere to the end and meet Jesus! There shouldn't be any other way!

Prayer is a conversation with God. A conversation involves communicating. You should be communicating your sins with a godly sorrow for them. Communicating all the issues of your life, and sometimes the lives of others! Let's not forget to voice our thanks to love. Just like we love to hear and gestures of gratitude! This is what Christianity is! Being a help to the needing "everyone" is just a way if sharing the blessings God has given us before!

While you're pressing on, remember the power bestowed upon you. The power to overcome, to conquer and to do all which Christ did, in His precious name. You will soon find out that you can do all things through Christ which strengthen you. You can make it; you can stand! You can move on to bigger and better things and you can persevere if you try and believe you can. Do so praying and constantly communicating to God the entire time. That extra boost of strength and encouragement from God will take you even farther!

Driven Uncomfortability

Complacency, mediocrity and stagnancy should be out of sight and out of mind. We don't need to be on one spot being comfortable where we are. We need to be forever moving, forever trying and reaching for more!

There was a time, in the Bible, where Jacob feared for his life. He thought his own brother was going to take his life. When an angel appeared to him revealing his sins, Jacob was sorrowful. He wasn't comforted in knowing that his life was safe. He wasn't comfortable because he didn't know all would be well. He grabbed a hold onto this angel and wrestled and wrestled, determined to move from his current place into a blessing. The angel touch the hollow of his thigh and made it go out of joint. Jacob held on to his faith into his projected blessing! Genesis 33

That's how we have to be, never comfortable with our own situations or state of being. Always push for better! When you are uncomfortable it will move you into action. Let it drive you towards success in all aspects of your life!

Simply Everything

Pity Party

Everybody has things that they go through. It's too common for people to have the same problems. There's no problem with showing sympathy towards someone or expecting sympathy from someone. Don't make it a habit. Don't be a pity addict! Nobody likes a pity party. Everyone has their own problems to deal with to have to deal with yours!

Dealing with myself at this point, I've solicited more sympathy than I should of been alotted. I dwelled in my situations and refused to take charge of my own life. I wanted someone to handle my situations and problems for me. I wanted the lazy way out. I had an unrealistic way of thinking. I needed a new mindset. I needed a mindset of lifting myself out of my mess, a mindset of self-encouragement and a mindset of determination!

Don't wallow in the ditched and deep grooves of life. I say this because you can't depend on anyone or expect anyone to come and help you out of it all the time. There will be times where you're physically alone. Times where there's nobody around, nobody to call and nobody to look for. At these times you have you and God. God, who is able to bring you out of your mess and set you on a platform of righteousness, if you are ready and willing. That made up mind, along with your faith in God, will take you places unseen and unimagined.

Don't wallow in your pity. Don't lay stagnant. Take charge of you, what you want from life and from God and go after it.

Somebody Knows!

"Nobody knows the troubles I see, nobody knows my sorrow..."

What I love about that line, in a song that I can't remember, is the idea that it's completely wrong! There was once a pity party I threw myself with everything that could go wrong in my life. Ranging from jobs, to my love life, to my health, to my personal belongings, money, YOU NAME IT! When you have more than one problem compiled it creates a new compounded issue! I thought to myself that there was nobody on this entire planet that was dealt the same issues I was that would be able to relate to me. I was wrong.

There was one woman I ran into, probably twice my age, that I met at my second job. She always seemed extra cheery! That's what pulled me towards her was her attitude. The closer I get to this woman the more I learn and she has many of the same problems I do. We really connected on a serious note! I was shocked! I sat there in awe thinking about me. Then her. Then us. Then the bigger picture! I really wasn't as alone as I thought I was. At the very least I know I'm not a special case. We were able to encourage each other in different areas of life and promised to keep each other lifted!

The book of Ecclesiasties 1:9 says that there is nothing new under the sun. Things may present themselves in a different way but the overall situation is a rerun! Know you're not alone with dealing and you don't have to deal alone. At the very least, you can always fall back in the arms of the all understanding Father who knows all!

Somebody is really needing to know that they have someone in their corner. Be comforted. Be encouraged. Be motivated to go on!

It's A New Year

Ahhhh it's time to make those New Year's Resolutions! Its an exciting time for people to make empty promises to God, themselves and their friends/family/acquaintances! If that wasn't real, I don't know what was!

Okay, so listen. I employ you that you should only make one New Year's Resolution. This maintains your focus on one thing and increases the success rate. I want everyone to accomplish whatever they set out to do, but I want you to realize that that you don't need to overwhelm yourself into a state where you wont get anything accomplished. Take it one step at a time.

A Resolution is a vow, regardless of who you're making it to. Be smart about what you say you're going to do. Don't make empty promises or ones that you are going to have trouble keeping. Its better to not vow than to vow and not keep! Be a man and a woman of your word! Ecclesiastes 5:4-6 Remember, with Christ, you can do all things by just believing. He will strengthen you. Yes, we all say things that we don't mean, but we can't take our words back, They are in history. the only thing we can do is pray for strength from god to help us keep what we said we would do.

Once you've accomplished your goal, go on ahead and feel free to further changing yourself for the better. You have the momentum and the thrill of what you just accomplished to jump start you into your next resolution. That's what it's all about. Daily changing in efforts to make ourselves better and more Christ-like!

Birth by Optimism and Faith Monday Afternoon at 1:30pm

Just 12 hours ago, I probably would have been at my lowest of lows. I fell asleep thinking with tears running from my eyes. Pillows dampened with sorrow. I was low! I woke up this morning. I sat up. I looked at the sun shining through my window and I smiled. I had a feeling that everything was going to be alright! I sent out the Mornin Manna Text and I grabbed some food. I sat back down and felt a peace within me. I remembered the scripture saying that weaping only lasts for a night and joy follows in the morning.

Things haven't worked out. Nothing was ironed out. Everything is the same. But I am persuaded that everything will be alright as long as I believe it will work out for my good. As my poetic passage reads, I'm going to keep on going, keep on moving!

Distractions and Overcomers

I just have to say that we can't get a word that's going to stroke our ego all of the time. We can't get a message of prosperity all of the time. We don't need a "everything is going to be alright" type of message all of the time. You've got to get hit with the truth every now and then. Let me tell you, the truth hurts! Some may not get that... when I say the truth hurts I mean that whatever truth was said it convicted something in you. Stirred something around inside you creating unrest making you aware there is something out of order! The truth is not about causing harm, rather to make us better people.

There are so many distractions set before us. So many little, average to large scale things than can occur that cause us to lose focus on living a life that's holy and acceptable unto God. Little things like arguments amongst one another that are never worked out. They fester feelings and further emotions and lead to further problems which distract us from our goal off meeting Jesus one day! Distractions like family issues that are present everyday. We wake to these people and sleep again with these people. Peace and unity has to be present. The family and household unit needs this to keep the home a place of love and joy which are apart of the fruit of the spirit.

distractions, distractions, distractions!!! All around us! Everywhere, at any time in any place. If we let our guard down, we are subject for an attack from the enemy that we weren't prepared for. when we're hit with a distraction, we need to recognize it for what it is. something to throw us off balance, something to make us fall. we have to press forward! we must go onward! even if we fall, even a righteous man falls seven times! we've got to roll up our sleeves and be ready to roll with the punches and dip in the curves of life. cause we are gonna fall, but as long we get up with the determination to press forward, while trying to do better and be better we elevate ourselves to the next level!

Don't be overtaken by distractions, be an over comer of distractions!

God Has Ya Back!

I was thinking the other day, after talking with someone who wasn't exactly thankful for the holidays, and I had to share some enthusiasm for someone that may need it. This person was having problems on the job, problems using the money he earned to make ends meet and having family problems. I really couldn't promise him everything was going to be alright. Reason being that I don't know where his faith was and how he believed. What I did tell him is that God has his back if you have his!

He looked at me confused, as if he didn't know what I was talking about. I explained to him what God expected from us. A tithe of our income. He passionately expressed how he just told me he strained to make what he had to cover his expenses. I told him, I have been in places, hard spots and difficult situations and I kept tithing! I went without only because I believed that God would supply all of my needs! Philippians 4:19 It might be hard for a moment, but if you're faithful over the little he asks, its sooo worth it!

"What about my family", he asked. I told him to hold his peace. "But they try me on the reg man", he commented. Just pray man. You have got to pray. "Man all of this religious stuff isn't for me!" I told him I can't force you to do anything you don't want to do. Then stated that I could promise him that if you tried God, and stay with him, it will be the best choice he'd ever make!

Hesitantly, he said he'd think about it. I stressed that if you would just try god he will have ya back! I've been through so much, death, health issues, unemployment, strained family relationships, relationship trouble, love trouble and much more! I put my hand in the hand of the man and haven't regretted it since! Yea, I get in my ruts, but I remember sooner and sooner where my help comes from! I smile my way through hard situations. I know God will take care of me as long as I keep on praising, keep on praying, keep on worshiping and giving God the Glory. I invited him to join me in church and he said he'd come. I said if you step out and meet God halfway He'll meet you and bring you the rest of the way! Trust and believe that God has ya back! Isaiah 26:3

Blessed From Beginning to the End!

I'm just going to put this out there just to inform you on exactly how I was blessed.

In all of my wrongness, God was still looking out for me. Times were hard and my money situations was not what it was supposed to be. I dropped my car insurance. I simply couldn't afford it. Without it, I would be able to afford the remainder of my bills. So it was 5 months of not paying my car insurance and without being pulled over. Situations in my life were becoming better, I began catching up on unpaid bills and had intentions of getting car insurance back. Lo, and behold, I get pulled over, for making a seemingly correct but wrong right hand turn, the week I declared to get the insurance on my car! I found out that My license was suspended, along with my registration, and I didn't have car insurance! I was screwed! They coulda took me in, towed my car, and God knows what else! That night, I was blessed and allowed to drive away! I got tickets for no insurance, license and registration! He didn't even give me a ticket for the turn!

I'm getting my documents right at the moment and calling numbers and paying parking tickets. I found out that my license was never suspended. I paid a fee to restore my registration. I got cheaper insurance than my last policy. When i went to court, he threw out all the tickets and violations I was charged with and gave me a fine for not having my insurance card with me, which is a lesser charge! I was faced with possible jail time, more than 500 in fines plus more! I tell you I walked outta that courtroom with my license and only having to pay $173! The goodness of God!

I'm not condoning what I did, I'm only thanking God for his outstanding grace and mercy for allowing the situation to overcome me and be unbearable!

He worked it out for me! I believe he can work just as greatly on your behalf! I dare you to trust God!

Rising From Ashes!

Some one very close to me, told me about how he likes the phoenix. While the phoenix is mythological, the story behind it is what intrigued me. This amazing bird is said to set itself on fire in a bed of twigs and then is reduced to ashed. Then, a new phoenix is reborn! From nothing but ash comes something so beautiful!

Some of us are in something that is wearing you down. Some are about to go through something that will try them. Others have gone through and are there to give you hope for a better tomorrow! Some things will reduce you to nothing, literally nothing at all! Loss of money, possessions, health, emotions and more! There is nothing left to you but that faith you have gives you hope.

God can heal. God can deliver. He can mend your brokenness! God just can, if only we trust him we could see these things come to pass. You can rise from your depression. You can rise from whatever sickness you may have. You can be set free. You can have the victory over your situations. You can do more than what you even know you can do! You can rise from the ashes, looking more beautiful than ever! Remember who enabled you to be reborn. Remember who lifted you from those ashes. Remember God gets the Glory!

Isaiah 58:1-8

1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

Its A Mind Thing

It used to be a time when you would be able to tell the difference between an ordinary Christian and an unbeliever. You still should be able to tell in this current day! Can you really tell? Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2

We have to stand out from what the world views as a normal person. We are anointed by God. Whether you just accepted Jesus as your savior or you're the head of the church or anyone else for that matter, you are anointed by god to do the best you can do in that position! In order to do the best you can do, you have to be the best that you can be.

This starts by getting your mind right! You have to loose yourself of the sin that holds you down. Repent and be renewed. You need to have a clean plate to start with and repenting for your sins does this. Now, you have to have a mind fixed on God. Fixed on what would please him. Focused on doing all you can do to live a holy life, which is only living as Jesus lived. Isaiah 26:3 Once you do that, you will receive peace of mind. That peace is a marker and can be seen in your face, speech and actions. This is the beginning of the visible evidence.

The fowl words that come from our mouths make us the same as everyone else. Not to mention them being very demeaning! This includes racial slurs as well. We have got to be better than that! We are different! We are a peculiar people and we need to start acting like it and being an example! 1 Peter 2:9 This includes everything that unbelievers do! If we do everything that the unbelievers do, how can we be told apart? How can we effectively witness to people that need it if we can't even be spotted?

I know, that limits many things. Some will say we can't do this and we can't do that, but look at it like this. When you're picked out from a group and you are that example of positivity, representing Jesus, that soul you've just saved will make it all worth it!

If we are Christians, we represent Christ Jesus. As you go along with your day, just think about some of the things you do. Do you think Jesus would be thrilled? Its a mind thing, get your mind right and the rest will follow.

From Beginning to End!

One thing we, as humans, tend to do is complain! It's like someone decided to make this the number one hobby to have! On top of complaining about everything, ungratefulness enters the picture. People blame god for their problems. People blame each other for mishaps. Then what takes the cake is when people act like they have never been blessed with anything! Really? You haven't been blessed? I thought to myself, when someone told me something like that, "you just don't know how blessed you are!" Open your eyes!

It's been happening since Adam and Eve, when they had everything and wanted the only thing God told them they couldn't have. ONLY ONE THING!!! King David had everything he could want and wanted more! Be content with your blessings! After all, you've been blessed with certain things for a reason.

Living today, we even have something to we can be grateful for. Look at the little things we have. the movement of our limbs, a sound mind, even good physical qualities! Just being real, some people have been blessed with beauty and looks! Look at this... when have you ever took the time to sincerely give thanks for it? When was the last time that you genuinely thanked God for allowing you to wake up? Keeping you going throughout your day? Your health?

We have to be grateful over what we have. From the grain of rice that kept us from being hungry, to the cars that we drive and the transit cards we buy. You must be grateful over whatever you have and watch and see that you will gain more! Matthew 25:14-29

We are so blessed that we place ourselves in a comfort zone and don't realize how good we have it! People have much less and can be truly thankful but we can't even do a good job faking it! Let's get serious, we were blessed to be born. We are blessed to make it to the point we are in at this moment. Everything, even our trials and hardships, work as a blessing to us. When you think of it from that perspective, Jesus is the silver lining to everything. We know he is a keeper, and we know that His grace and mercy abounds on us. We were blessed in the beginning and will continue to be blessed until the end!

A Need to Ad Lib

I was listening to a sermon at a church one Sunday. The preacher said we, as believers and unbelievers alike, know so much about the world and don't know about Jesus. He said that we know about the world's music, the world's habits, but we don't hear about Jesus. I sat and thought! I prayed quietly to myself, in search of a revelation.

I'm not going to go against the man of God, but I am going to have to disagree with what he said, to some degree. I disagree with the idea that we don't hear about Jesus. He down-played worldly activities, in efforts to make a point that wasn't totally correct! Jesus is plainly out there. He is available to be sought! People know he's there. Keep in mind he was speaking to a sanctuary of church members, there were no visitors present!

We clearly know about the Savior. We know how he died on the cross. We know how he is going to come back like a thief in the night. We are not in the dark on this. The problem lies in the choices that we make. We knowingly choose to do the wrong things. We take advantage of God's grace and mercy. We commit premeditated sin. We chose not to live right! We chose to do the wrong things. In other words, we are choosing to go to hell bound up!

Breaking that down just a lil bit... We play church. We play Christian! We give up what we want to give up and hold on to what we wanna hold on to believing that God's grace will cover us. Think again! What is the point of sacrificing all of that if you're still not going to completely yield to God! You need to realize that when you choose to walk as a Christian, that means devoting your life and your choices to making God happy. Not just giving up what makes you comfortable. You have to either be with Him, or not. There are no healthy in-betweens! Rev 3:15,16

You've got to be serious about this. After all, it's your own soul salvation that's at hand!

TestImony Tuesday!

I thought that it would be cool to create a place for people to share their testimonies. We have overcome if we have a testimony. By sharing what God has done for you, it is possible that a reader may gain some type of encouragement. Maybe they can rekindle the hope they once had. It could possible spark someone to take a closer walk with Christ!

I have a faith testimony. Recently, I was unemployed. For 3 months I was without steady income. When I had income previously, it was not a consistent amount. I prayed and asked God for a way to make my ends meet. I prayed for a job. I mean I really got ugly in front of him. Snottin, sniffin and my boo hoo face! I let him know I was serious. I prayed that there was something that would work with my first job when I resumed it in September. It could not take me from any of my church services. I was firm in my prayer and I wanted a job and wouldn't accept anything but what I prayed for. 2 months past and still no job. Some might say you better take what you can get and pay your bills! I said NO! My God shall supply ALL of my needs. I believed that he would give me a job to my specifications AND it would come JUST in time!

So, bills became overdue. Yet, I still trusted! Food in the fridge got low! Yet, I still trusted! I had no money, zero dollars in all accounts and few pennies to rub together! I STILL TRUSTED GOD! That same trust brought me through the 3rd month and now I have that job that meets all of my requirements and all of my bills are up to date! All that to say, God will take good care of you if you believe he will. I mean believe without a shadow or tiniest amount of doubt. God will take care of you!

So, I've gone ahead and gave my testimony. Don't be afraid to follow suit! Post your testimonies in the comment section and see how God has been moving in our lives!

You Are God, Alone!

I do believe that often times we forget that God is God! We forget what he is capable of doing. We get caught up in our issues and drama, I call them distractions, and lose focus on reality. The reality of it all is at the end of the day, God is STILL God. Situations come and go, but God is the only constant that remains unchanged and will never change.

I have had the Chance to speak with this artist one on one. I have to say he is one of the realest and most approachable artists I have met yet. He speaks to you and your problem in his music. His latest album is called "Thirsty" and it speaks volumes to you in every work of every song! I thought I would share this with you!

Easy on my ears!

Cruising down the highway, with the radio pumping out what makes a ride seem short, we're feeding our ears. Taking the metro in our morning and evening commutes, we feed our ears. In our homes, with our TVs, we feed our ears. When we're around our friends we are feeding our ears! With what? The weather perhaps. The latest news maybe. Gossip corner anybody? Listening to friends slander someone else's name! It happens, whether you know it or not!

We will listen to anything we want and justify it be saying "they're my ears!" I'm not going to sit here and type this like I haven't done it myself! The point is why can't I listen to something wholesome that will prosper me! Who listens to quality things? I can probably call out every single one of my friends that loves to listen to Wendy Williams! Not going to bad mouth her, but she always has some kinda gossip about somebody! That's not productive. It's intrusively informative at somebody else's expense!

Once things enter our ears they enter our spirit whether we want it to or not! You heard a song playing in the background at work and the following week you know all of the words, backwards and forwards, and you have no idea how! You had great diction, and an expansive vocabulary and all of a sudden a cuss word is flying out of your mouth every other word! It comes from what we subject ourselves to listen!

When God tries to speak to us, our ears are so plugged up with filth that you can't hear Him speaking to you! There are going to be distractions. We have to keep a focus on what is necessary. You have to be easy on your years. When you need to listen to a word from the Lord, you want to hear what he has to say! 1 Kings 19:12-13

Right Here With You

Too scared to move, nowhere to hide. Feeling confused and all crazy inside? The sky is falling in every area of your life! You can't seem to stretch out your hands and arms to keep things up. You've been brought to your knees. Things just are not working out for you and you don't know what to do. The matters of your heart are stressing you down. You are looking for love and can't find it. you've found the wrong person to love and you're miserable! You are troubled on every end! What do you do?

Let's try casting all of your cares on Jesus! It's great to know that despite what you seem to face, Jesus always extends that loving and caring hand of compassion towards us! 1 Peter 5:7 With that said, get rid of everything that bothers you! Shake it off! Leave it where you stand and walk away from it! There is no need to go on carrying things that you know are going to hold you down. Holding things that you're fully aware will hold you back from reaching your full potential! Just put down the things that will slow you down! You'll find that life will become much easier once you've laid down those weights! Hebrews 12:1-2

Press on with life. Knowing that despite all that you go through God is there right by your side! He said he will never leave us, nor forsake us! Hebrews 13:5 That's a promise to us! He will always be there! Not only that he said until the ending of the earth! Matthew 28:20

I listen to radio broadcasts, watch tele-evangelists and this and that and they all seem to preach prosperity. They're not telling you how to get there! In order for these things to work, you need to be giving God some of your time! If you want God to have your back, show God that you care about him! Don't just call on him when the chips are tough but daily seek his face! Let him know how your day went! Thank him and show appreciation towards the little things! This is how you build a relationship with God by being real with him and trying to live as he wants us to live! Romans 12:1-2

Just remember this scripture when it all seems so very gray: "...lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:20

The realness of real!

I talk with many people that would belong to the 20 and younger crowd. I hear from them that they don't get anything from church. I get that they have no idea what the preacher is talking about. It's all too common for me. These kids, and some my age and older are all telling the same story. They don't understand. They seek advice and the elect men and women (pastors elders, deacons, missionary evangelists, etc) all tell them things that they need a dictionary to understand. They don't look into it and then the next thing from these elect people, they're backsliders and heathens!

I had to gain a understanding of what was happening here. I had to test the water. I believe in seeking counsel and advice from my pastor and immediate family. They have the most insight on me and my situations. I ventured outside to see what all was the real issue. I received the same confusion these needy and thirsty received! That's a problem!

I'm not going to talk specifically to the saved and anointed, nor will i keep it from the unsaved and inquiring mind. If some comes to you with a problem, you must keep it real with them. You have to get on their level and make them understand where you are coming from! You can have all the credentials in the world and then some but how can you expect to explain something to someone that has no clue! The same thing happens when we don't want to be bothered. We place ourselves so far up on a pedestal and have ourselves together, sometimes we brush off everybody else! Not right!

You have to examine the fact that when people approach you for any thing at all, there is a reason! It's a cry out for help and attention. There's something that you have experienced and/or are knowledgeable about that you can provide assistance! Jesus kept it real for us, way back when! He came down and experienced life as we know it. He experienced hardships and was even beaten and tortured. He served as that light for us, why can't we shine our light amongst the few people we come in contact with? Matthew 5:16

We've got to remember that everyone is not going to be on the same level as we are. They may be above us and need us to remind is that we're the same. They may be below us and not have our level of understanding and seeking knowledge and clarity. Keep it real with them. You can help them through a great deal if you would just be honest. Get off of that high horse. take off that crown. Open up yourself to others that you may be a blessing to them!

Taking a Position

I want to express that everyone is born with a purpose. Everyone has a place to be at a certain time. I guess you could call that an appointment. You are placed with a purpose in this life. I think most would agree with that!

Introduce the problem:

Everybody thinks they should be doing the same thing! Looking at it from the natural view, everybody can't drive Bentleys! Everybody can't have the house on the hill! Everybody can't be making 8 figures a year! It is not for everybody and everybody can't handle it! From the spiritual side, everybody can't be the Pastor, everybody can't be a Minister, everyone cannot be an Elder! There are those who are called to be average and some that are called to be great! You can be just a regular person and have such a great purpose being as regular as you can be! You can be in charge of sweeping floors and have such an impact over someone's life!

From the Left Field:

You can be called to the position of anything but it does not have to be the season for this to transpire. You can be set up to have a stylish Lexus, but what might happen if you get it before it is time for you to get it? Things begin to go wrong. Unfortunate things begin to happen! Then the next question out our mouthes is "God Why"!

In whatever you do, make sure it's for you to do. It never hurts to check with God, and never hurts to check twice! There is a time and a place for everything. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 In due season you will reap what will be yours if you faint not! Galatians 6:9 Just hold on to your prayer, hold on to your fasting, hold on to your faith and don't be discouraged. Take your position when it is time to take it!

I'm Going Through For You

I've heard time after time, and even said myself on occasion, people question why they go through the things they go through! I mean sickness, misfortune, and trials of every sort come and slap us square in our faces! Some even come to us in the most inconvenient of times. Then you ask someone why and the first thing from their mouths is that you have to trust in Jesus! The next thing to follow is that He'll work it out! I WANT TO KNOW WHY!!!

People have to realize that we are tested and tempted. The tempting comes from our surroundings and from our enemies, and can very well be ourselves! The tempting can lead us to the test. The test is what comes from God! The test tries our faith, tries our endurance, tries our long suffering, tries our happiness and our joy. It shakes our love and our peace. If you gather up all of your determination you can make it through! Surviving the test strengthens your relationship with God and gives you a testimony!

There are some situations that we go through, as individuals, that have nothing to do with us. They have to do with us using our experiences to strengthen somebody else's walk with Christ. In other words, there are some things that you go through that have nothing to do with you! The purpose of you going through, is so when you come out on the other side of your situation, you can share your experiences to help somebody else!

This is the good part. Some people just don't realize why they are going through. They simply cannot apply their testimony to them! Other than the fact they went through it! There will be someone that will cross your path you will need to share this testimony with. There is someone that needs to hear what you have to say! It could of been something that you came through years prior, you will have a use for it!

Just as Jesus went through it for us to look to him for help, we go through to be a help for someone else. Go through your test and endure through temptation with mindset of "I'm Going Through For You"

The Power to Change God's Mind

You can be great, or you can be just the regular guy or girl on the corner. Regardless of what you are, there are things that you must do. You still have to abide by the law of the Lord.

You have this great king, King Hezekiah. He built a great temple for God! He restored worship in the land. He tore down idols and rid them from the land. There were things that were not in order with him and his house. Scripture says that The lord spoke to a prophet to say to the King to "set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live." Isaiah 38:1 You have this great King that is supposed to be close to God, but he had to hear what thus saith the Lord from a prophet! Something was just not right!

The king turned to the wall and began to pray. Isaiah 38:2 Turning to the wall symbolized that it was him turning away from all distractions and problems and he placed himself before God. He was sickly and on his death bed and did not accept it. He pleaded with God. He prayed! Not the kind of prayer that you say what you want and its over, he placed him self in the presence of God and wept before him! The Bible says "O Lord, I beseech thee..." Isaiah 38:3 He made an urgent request of God and was very serious! He meant business! He wanted to hear from God!

The word then came to Isaiah to give word to the king that "I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. AND I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city." Isaiah 38:5,6 God will let you know that he has heard you and what he will do. Not only did he promise that he would add years to his life and he would not die then, but he also promised deliverance! How Good is God?

We have the power to change God's mind! We have to power to go before him and make our requests know in faith! Matthew 21:22 says "all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." You have to believe when you go before God! You have to bring all of your faith and some to let God know you mean business and you really expect a move from him!

Don't be fooled! Don't think you can be doing any thing that you want and decide to go before God and expect miracles. IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY! You have to have your house in order! You have to be living right! You have to be treating your brothers and sisters right! You need to be doing all that you can be doing to live a life just like the life of Jesus!

Though I do get discouraged from doing this blog because I do not see an immediate response to the posts. I placed a counter on the blog and it gets very few visitors. I had to open my eyes to realize that as long as there is one visitor, and as long as that count keeps growing I should be happy. The angels rejoice when one soul comes to Christ, I am content regardless of how many people come.

I am standing on my post, doing what I have been led to do. I have been placed with a purpose and I refuse to sit around on God. I have decided to step up and step out in faith. What are you supposed to doing for God? Let's get to it!

Power Struggle: A Daily Tug of War!

A power struggle would be two parties going back and forth in a tug of war. In an ordinary sense you would have person or team A, opposing person or team B, in an effort to win. The prize being anything on an endless list. There is never a tie in a tug of war. Even if you are equally matched with strength and power, ones perseverance and willpower will outlast the other. This defines the loser and the winner.

Let me open your eyes to something. Lets add a person or team C to the mix! There is so much tension going on in this tug of war. You now have the possibility for a unfair team going against one of the players or teams.

Lets give these teams some names. Team A will be God, Team B will be you and Team C will be the Devil.

Scenario 1: Say you decide to go it alone. Team B will do what Team B needs to do to make it! This is what will happen. You may be holding your own. You may not be losing, but you are far from winning. You are giving it your best effort. It's not enough. You may be trying to conquer a demon in your life, doing it alone may not be enough! You may need deliverance from a habit, but the harder you try by yourself the more tired you become. That healing that you are so badly wanting is not coming to pass because you simply do not have the power to do it alone! You may be missing out on a world and beyond of opportunities if you only reach out for help! Psalm 46:1

Scenario 2: You see how hard it can be so the devil is trying to convince you to join his team and they can beat God together! You need the help, so you join up with Team C. It may not be a out spoken choice or a declaration, but if you do not deny the devil it is like signing on that dotted line! Things may be better. Skies may even open up. The devil has you convinced that you've won and you did it without God! Guess what? A freak health accident or a wrongful turn of events occurs and your life has been taken. Where is your soul going? Who just won? You won't be spending eternity in paradise, you will be in the warm places of hell! It was all a deception. Ephesians 6:11 If you are not aware that the devil is out to get you, you will fall for every trick the Devil lays for you!

Scenario 3: Instead of leaning towards the ways of deception, you decided to hop onto Team A! You chose to lean to God's unchanging hand! We have to realize that God has all power! Matthew 28:18 He can do anything for us. We have to first choose to seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all of these things will be added unto you! Matthew 6:33 The answer was right in front of us the entire time. The only thing we have to do is reach out and embrace the power of God and all that He has for us!

God gave us a choice. He wants us to choose him but allows us to do otherwise. There will come a time when we all will need help, whether it be on a major scale or a minor one! We are in that power struggle. Won't you put your hand in the hand that is able to exceedingly do anything? He understands all of the problems that we go against. He knows everything about us. The sweet thing is that He has all power it will take for him to anything for us. All we have to do is follow him! Luke 9:23

How bad do you want it?

Smoking, drinking, sexing, fornicating, healing, deliverance, restoration and transformation. How bad do you want it? How familiar does this sound?

I'm going to quit smoking, only to see yourself with a cigarette on your lip a day later. The same thing goes for drinking! Sex is so energetic, satisfying and it feels good! It becomes addicting and just like a drug! A very hard habit to kick. Do you have the help of helping hand of Jesus, and the assistance of the Holy Spirit?

Healing, deliverance, restoration and transformation are all things that believers and sinners alike seek! There is nothing impossible for God! Luke 1:37 Your faith has to be there. but how bad do you want it? Zacchaeus sought the lord and wanted salvation so badly that in a crowd of people climbed a tree so that he could see Jesus. He wanted salvation and he got it! Luke 19:1-10 The woman with the issue of blood wanted to be healed! Her faith was in a place that she knew that all she had to do was touch the hem of the garments of Jesus and she would be made whole. Matthew 9:18-22

How bad do you want what you want from God? will displace yourself to place yourself in a position to be blessed? Some times you will need to throw off some things that you are holding so dear. You will need to leave some things behind in order to move forward. You have to change some things about yourself before you can expect a change from God! How bad do you want it? What lengths will you go to get what you want from God?

We Worship You... Right?

I love you, I love you, I love you Lord today. Because you cared for me in such a special way. And yes I praise you, I lift you up, and I magnify your name. That's why My heart is filled with praise. My heart, My mind, My soul belongs to you. You paid the price for me, way back on Calvary! And yes I praise you, I lift you up, and I magnify your name. That's why My heart is filled with praise.

A true worship must come from the inside. There has to be inner desire to push a worship out. I find that the words to that song will stir up a worship in me very easily.

Worship is an action word that is used to exalt the name of God. Why do we do it? It come from a spirit of gratitude. We have all been blessed in some way shape or form. Some perhaps blessed more than others. When you think of how good He is, how good He has been, and how good He will be, you should not need anyone to pull a "thank you" from your lips! When you think of God's awesome power and his greatness you have to give him a praise! Psalm 100:4-5 Hallelujah is the highest praise! It is so sweet in the ear of God when we utter it to him. "I love you", which is something that you should have toward God without question, should be voiced! It's one thing to show it, but as you probably know it is amazing and creates an indescribable feeling when you hear it!

We worship God out of respect. We worship God out of honor. We worship God out of love. Get into a spirit of worship.

On My Way...

A very close friend of mine shared this idea with me and it has stuck to me and remained in my spirit. It goes something like this, "I'm on the way to Heaven and I am enjoying the trip!" I took this phrase and I analyzed it a for a little while. I thought abd I said, when you're on the way to heaven, you get more problems and obstacles thrown at you. There seems to be more stumbling blocks ahead of you than it seemed to be when you were on your way to hell!

When God is not on your side, then the devil (Satan, Lucifer, or any other nickname you may have for him) doesn't have to mess with you. He has you. But when you cross over to God's side, and begin to live holy, The devil gets pissed. He's angry! He throws things at you to make you fall, discourage you, and speaks to you and influences you mess your own self up. He tries to sadden you and will do anything he can to bring down God's annointed!

You will experience hardship! You will experience heartache! You will be texted and tried! Despite all of that, remember you are on the way to heaven. You are more than a conqueror and you will get through it! Romans 8:35-37 Enjoy the fact that you are favored by God! Enjoy all of the blessings that God has given you and will give you! Enjoy that love that God has for you! Enjoy that change that has happened on the inside of you!

You are running down a road called life. Destination at the end of the road is called heaven. Lay aside the weights (life's situations, trials, problems and tests) and the sin (which is what will keep upi from seeing Heaven) and run with patience to the goal of eternal life! Hebrews 12:1,2 I am on the way to heaven! I may have some ups and some downs. I am focused an what God has promised me and I will appreciate all that God has, can and will do for me! I am on the way to heaven and I am going to enjoy my trip! How about you?

Fibs, White Lies, and Sin!

A white lie is something that may seem like it doesn't effect anyone. It is often told to spare one's feelings or for mutual benefit. Wife says, "How do I look hubby?" Hubby says, "You look fine dear!" What you didn't hear is how hubby truly dislikes how wifey is lookin! In his mind he spares himself a beat-down and argument while sparing his wife's feelings and boosts her ego! It is damaging and an untruth!

Fibs are lies that are lies told by kids. Usually to be manipulative and to get what they want. Kids will play parents against each other and promotes unhealthy behavior for later on in life.

Both of these seem so innocent and harmless but can have later effects that can be very hurtful and sometimes dangerous. It's something that may be argued is in human nature. Things just fly out of our mouths and so many actions and miscellaneous things we do involuntarily. Some may be intentionally on specific purpose! It all falls under the category of SIN. It is something we all do however. (please note "do" was used and not "did") Romans 3:23

What is sin? "All unrighteousness is sin!" 1 John 5:17. What constitutes unrighteousness? Not adhering to moral principles, practicing unjust or unfair behavior, being dishonest and deceiving, and doing things that are disrespectful to God.

The controversy lies in what is sin and what is not sin. What was a sin back then(biblical times), may not be considered a sin now. What may be a sin in one country may be a sin in another country. An easy way around all of the technicalities is to first develop a relationship with God. Being filled with the HOLY SPIRIT will help you recognize what is sin and what is not. He is the source of knowledge and truth. The Holy Spirit lets you know when you are about to do wrong and when you have done wrong. The Holy Spirit will lead you to the truth. John 14:16-17

God is not the author of confusion. 1 Corinthians 14:33. Go to him with sincerity asking and seeking clarity. Once we acknowledge our unrighteousness, ask for forgiveness with the mind to stay right, God is faithful and just in forgiving us! 1 John 1:9

Be strong and Keep the faith until the next time!

Expectancy to Deliver!

To be expectant is to have a strong feeling or certainty that something is to come. That sounds just like faith, doesn't it? Ya know, faith! The substance of things hoped for and the evedince of things not seen! Hebrews 11:1

There is a saying if you are going to pray don't worry, and if you are going to worry don't pray. I began to ponder that over and over. I could not understand if I am going to worry why shouldn't I pray! Everybody worries about something and many upon many people still pray. I needed understanding and it boils down to the faith behind the prayer. If you are worrying, your faith is is doubt. If your faith is not strong and you are asking in faith, your prayer is now weak. Faith is the positive reinforcement to prayer! James 5:15 says the prayer of faith can heal the sick, that means Faith has that power!

Getting back to the expectancy! When you expect God to do something you are certain he will do it! You are believing it will happen and come to pass! There are so many afflicted and wounded in the body of Christ, spiritually and physically speaking. We have to realize that we have that power to Heal. We have to be certain in ourselves.

We have to have expectancy in ourselves to deliver the power from within us! When we exhibit such great acts of faith, we can now look to God with Expectancy in our hearts and minds and God Will Deliver!

Is It Well?

When peace like a river, attendeth my way - There will be many many good times that come up. There will be many joyous occassions that we will have a chance to experience. We have to be thankful for these times. Use that time to prepare yourself for a worse time that may come.

When sorrows like sea billows roll - There will be some bad times that will come and toss us. Some may bring us to our knees and even cripple us. There lies the balance There will be good and bad. You have to press on and keep on going! We have to press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 3:14

Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say - Whatever happens you have to be conditioned. You have to roll with the punches! You take the good with the bad and the ugly with the pretty. go about life with the attitude "It is well, it is well with my soul!"

In everything give thanks! 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Deliver Me From Myself

Often times we come across problems. We cast blame on the devil, the people and even the situations around us. If he didn't do this I would... If she wouldn't have done that I could have... Whatever the reason or excuse, there is SOMETHING that is blocking us. We always seem to have an enemy opposing us. I caught myself from shifting the blame. I thought to myself, the devil, along with whatever else, is not my major enemy! My biggest enemy is the enemy within me!

We are faced with situations and presented with choices. Then we make decisions. Those very same decisions is what gets us in trouble! The devil presents thoughts to us and we have the power to rebuke him. Do we? Friends put that cigarette to our mouth and sway us with a drink. No body's fault but our own! Your body is a sanctuary for God, and the bible instructs us to keep it clean! (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)

Our own curiosity, and sometimes even our selfish desires, begin to break us down. You know that you aren't to test the waters but you make a storm anyhow! That includes wandering minds/eyes and being sneaky thinking we wont be caught! The biggest battles come from within ourselves. If you don't know yourself in a strong way you will not know how to overcome yourself!

A good way to start is by having your mind in the right place. The bible says to let this mind that be in you be also in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5) Jesus was that of peaceful mind and spirit. One that was always in prayer in every situation! When you feel you are too much for yourself to bear, give yourself to God in Prayer! Be honest with him and express your situation. Pour out your heart to God! (Psalms 62:8) Let this be your prayer, "Deliver me from the enemy within me, deliver me from myself!"

First, Second Third...

Morning procedure usually involves waking washing and leaving for work. We'll head to work and come home from work, doing our errands in between. Eat dinner, watch some TV and then we're off to sleep. I would say this is a typical work person's day.

Something seems to be missing in that timeline of events. Where is God? Where is the prayer? Everyday we give two left feet about God and then we expect him to bend at our every whim and request. Then get mad when God doesn't move when we want him to move! Our priorities seem to be in disarray.

The actual house of God is replaced with Bedside Baptist, Pillow Presbyterian, and Couch C.O.G.I.C.! We use every excuse to put ourselves first and God second, and sometimes even third! That extra few minutes of sleep that will make us late for work can be used to glorify God in prayer!

The Bible tells us to seek God first and his kingdom. Then, after that, all the other things will be added. There is the timeline of how things ought to be. Put God first. Wake up and Pray. Tell God how great his is. Tell him thank you! It doesn't take much effort to open your mouth and utter something worthwhile to God's ears!

Lets place our priorities where they ought to be. All it takes is a little effort. Watch and see when you place God first how things begin to happen for you!

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33

What You Need, When You Need It!

Sometimes you will find yourself in a place with a thought "God forgot about me!" He brought you from this place and that situation only to leave you in the middle of nowhere! God IS still there and STILL looking after you!

God delivered the Israelites from bondage in the land of Egypt. God blessed them with freedom only for them to complain once they attained their given freedom. Some nerve huh? The Israelites were complaining because they were hungry though. Hunger is not one of those easy to shake cravings. Here is God, always watching over them AND still providing! God provided bread by morning, which would sustain them until the evening meal of meat. (Exodus 16:12) They called this bread Manna! (Exodus 16:15)

The purpose of this blog is to give a few words for your thought and nourishment. The intention is for personal and spiritual growth, as well as enhancement. Just as the manna kept the Israelites, I hope this will provide much needed encouragement and motivation. Whether it be a primary source or a secondary boost to your local church services.

I intend on giving scriptural reference to give support to whatever I say. I speak not for my Glory, but for God's Glory. With that said, I am not above anything that I say. I try to keep it real for a very keep it real time that we live in.
